The Lighthouse sync sound system for Arri SR2

 for hire  07850 054 590

This simple invention enables the simultaneous recording of sync. digital, stereo sound from any combination of microphones, remote or attached, at the touch of the ARRI button  ‘Rushes that sing, rushes that roar’.  The DAT recorder is  hung beneath the camera on the tripod or simply put on
the ground

Press the ON switch on the S-16 SR2 and the DAT recorder goes into record as the camera runs.  At the end of the shot, before turning the camera off, press the little red button by the Arri ON-OFF switch and frames flash on the film.  A matching bleep is laid on the wide of the two stereo tracks.  The two can be simply matched in synching-up.

This system was used by Mike Lemmon filming for 'Living Britain'.  A close-up blackbird singing in the Oxford May-morning post-title sequence in this series demonstrates perfectly the accuracy and and vitality of this real sync.

The sync. centre (middle of M&S) track can be recorded to run before, during and after the camera shot, unbroken, by over-riding the DATon/off instruction,  (the sync bleep is still recorded on the ‘side’ or ‘B’ track). A PAG battery in the Audio bag powers the DAT, microphones (and camera if wished) obviating the need to change any batteries all day.

Any idents, camera rolls, general comments etc. can be recorded onto the DAT at the touch of a button on the mini-box attached to the DAT. The system can be used to record people just as well as wildlife.

Beak-sync or lions growl, you have it just as it really is and if Concorde flies overhead,
well, at least you know what the sound is to dub in.

This system can be supplied with or without an SR.  Price is entirely open to discussion but probably in the range of £250-£300 a week depending on whether we supply radio mics, parabolas, SR  etc.
